INTRODUCTION ABOUT NORFLOX 400MG TABLET
NORFLOX 400MG TABLET contains Norfloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used to manage urinary tract infections (infection in any part of the urinary system, the kidneys, bladder or urethra) and gonococcal infections (sexually transmitted infection that infects both male and female).
Always take NORFLOX 400MG TABLET exactly as directed by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have or had seizures, tendon problems, liver, kidney or heart problems. Drink plenty of liquids during management with NORFLOX 400MG TABLET (such as water or juice) to avoid potential side effects (such as crystalluria).
NORFLOX 400MG TABLET should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking products containing calcium such as dairy products (milk or liquid milk products such as yoghurt), including iron, zinc or multivitamin supplements.
NORFLOX 400MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. NORFLOX 400MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged under 18 years). Also, it should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 60 years and above) due to increased risk of pain and swelling in the joints and inflammation or rupture of tendons.
The common side effects of taking NORFLOX 400MG TABLET are headache, dizziness, light-headedness stomach pain and nausea. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect worsens or persist for a long period of time.

Take NORFLOX 400MG TABLET exactly as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of the management for you based on the age, body weight and disease condition.
COMMON
Headache.
Dizziness, light-headedness, drowsiness.
Abdominal pain and spasms.
Nausea.
Rash.
UNCOMMON
Crystalluria.
Tiredness.
Mood swings.
Difficulty sleeping, sleep disorders.
Anxiety, nervousness.
Irritability, euphoria, disorientation.
Hallucination, confusion.
Polyneuropathy (nervous system in your arms and legs does not work properly).
Fits
Myasthenia gravis (disease causing muscle weakness).
Disturbed vision.
Increased lacrimation (tear production).
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
Palpitation (feeling your heartbeat).
Heartburn, vomiting.
Diarrhea.
Loss of appetite.
Skin reactions and photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight).
Pain or inflammation in joints.
Muscle pain, inflamed tendons.
Vaginal candidiasis.
RARE
Pseudomembranous colitis (inflammation of the bowel causing fever, abdominal pain or diarrhoea.
Inflammation of the Achilles (pain and swelling in the backside of your heel when you walk or run).
Stop taking NORFLOX 400MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Symptoms of angio-oedema (such as swollen face, tongue or throat, difficulty in swallowing, hives and difficulty breathing).
Severe skin reaction.
Symptom of an inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) or liver failure (such as yellow discoloration of the eye whites or skin).
Pain or inflammation of a tendon (in your ankle, wrist, elbow, shoulder or knee).
Symptoms of nerve damage (neuropathy) such as pain, burning, tingling, numbness and/or weakness especially in the feet and legs or hands and arms.
Pseudomembranous colitis (infection causing inflammation of the large intestine, severe and persistent diarrhoea).
